What real heat-therapy trials on plantar fasciitis actually found
Two studies are worth taking seriously because they’re directly on-condition and traceable to a primary source:
Wax baths (Buttagat et al., 2024, Scientific Reports 14:12098): 40 patients split into a cassava wax bath group and a traditional paraffin wax bath group, 15 sessions over 5 weeks. Both are heat-delivery methods. Pain scores (VAS) dropped from about 5.9-6.0/10 down to 0.8-1.1/10 in both groups — a large, real improvement, with no statistically significant difference between the two wax types. The cassava-wax group did show a significant edge in pain frequency specifically.
